Tunisia : Good performance for 2014/2015 date sector

According to leaders in the Tunisian date sector, the country exported 92,000 tons of dates between October 2014 and June 2015, compared to 81,000 tons the year before. Revenues increased by 23% to 440 million dinars. This increase places Tunisia as the world's number 1 drupe exporter with 9% of total volume exported and 25% of market share in the sector. Authorities had made efforts in the last decade allowing for production to increase by 5.6% in volume and 11% in value. Tunisia exports dates to 75 destinations worldwide.
