Organics Unlimited unveils new label for 10th anniversary
On September 1st, Organics Unlimited will usher in GROW Month and encourage retailers to join in the campaign by purchasing GROW organic bananas and sharing information with consumers on how their purchases affect lives in communities in need. The celebration will go above and beyond this year to honor 10 years of consumers supporting the socially responsible brand’s efforts.
“This is a very exciting time for everyone at GROW by Organics Unlimited,” said Mayra Velazquez de Leon, Organics Unlimited CEO and GROW Founder. “For 10 years now, our customers have affected entire communities, in addition to the workers who grow our organic bananas. Our socially responsible program provides more benefits than a fair trade model, allowing each GROW purchase to have a larger impact in creating sustainable communities.”
The new GROW label features #GROWTURNS10, a social media call-to-action for consumers to share how their GROW purchases are making a difference in the lives of others. Distributors, retailers and consumers can also go to GROWbananas.org to find exclusive organic banana recipes, stories of GROW scholars in Mexico, how to share the message of GROW, crafts for children and more.
With each box of GROW bananas sold, a portion of the proceeds go to the GROW Fund. Since 2005, GROW has raised nearly $2 million to advance the rural Mexican and Ecuadorian communities surrounding its organic banana farms through clean water, educational programs, dental care and vision care. These donations are managed and distributed by the International Community Foundation.
