New revenue model for Dutch greengrocer

On March 13, 2015, Gebrs van Aarle opened a greengrocery in Tilburg, in the Netherlands. Thanks to the new revenue model, the entrepreneur is able to give his customers as much attention as possible. General manager Frans van Aarle of Gebrs van Aarle: “We came up with the plan to establish a store concept that gives entrepreneurs a better means of existence, and where customers have a genuine shopping experience.” The first store, “De Heyhoef” in Tilburg, is now open, and a second store, furnished according to the new concept, will follow after summer.
Customer focus
The new store concept was deployed by store coordinator Wilco Willemse. He is responsible for the look and feel of the new greengrocers. The focus will be on the customer as much as possible, and when you enter the store at the Heyhoefpromenade in Tilburg, you immediately notice its open character. “Customers can look, feel, taste, and experience here. There is also constant interaction between entrepreneur and customer.” Wilco adds that many shopkeepers tend to hide behind the counter or in the cutting kitchen. “This store is brimming with vitality.”
Unburdening the customer
A lot of thought went into decoration and routing, which shouldn't be too distracting, and offer a clear structure to the customer. The customer can immediately see what the range of first-class fruit and veg products is, and should feel free to add to their purchases with products like smoothies, juices, wraps, salads, fresh soups, healthy meals and tasty (dairy) desserts. The customer is fully unburdened.
