New sensor 'sees' through metal, detecting stowaways

American scientists have developed a new weapon in the fight against stowaways: a motion detector than can 'see' through metal.

Scientists developed a sensor that works like a hammer. The sensor is attached to the metal wall and transmits the signals. The signals pass through the wall and come back to the sensor through acoustic 'radar'. The radar has a different pattern when the signals reflect moving objects. An alternating pattern indicates movement. Starmark has made the signals so sensitive that even breathing cannot go unnoticed.

It is still unknown when the device will appear on the market. For now, the discovery still has to prove it's usefulness.
