Macro Plastics’ Shipper Bin maximizes return ratio

If you are shipping cross-country or internationally and are still using wasteful cardboard or wood bins, you should consider switching to the Hybrid 44P or “Shipper Bin” from Macro Plastics. This new injectionmolded plastic bulk shipping container with a 48” x 44” base maximizes space utilization in refrigerated containers when full, and then disassembles easily for an unmatched return ratio of about 5 to 1.

Already acknowledged as one of the Top 10 Innovative Ag Products at the World Ag Expo in February 2015, full production of the Shipper Bin will ramp up by July 1, 2015. “What makes the Shipper Bin unique is its ultra-lightweight,modular design,” states Hugo Ramos, Business Development Manager for Macro Plastics. “With a plastic basket that securely snaps into four plastic columns and a base with 2-way or 4-way forklift entry, the Shipper Bin can be easily assembled and used for the storage or shipping of produce in refrigerated containers. Once empty and ready for return shipment, the pieces can be disassembled in about 30 seconds and then nested and stacked to maximize shipping efficiencies in a dry container.”

The walls and base of the Shipper Bin can be manufactured in either solid or vented configurations. The venting design can be customized to match ventilation patterns and cooling equipment for maximum airflow. Just like the industry-leading MacroBins®, the smooth and rounded surfaces of the Hybrid 44P reduce product abrasions and won’t harbor bacteria or pathogens like wood bins. The Shipper Bin also has an interlocking design to keep stacks straight and secure, and a bruise buffer zone between stacks to protect product within adjacent bins.
