After impressive growth in Italy

Zerbinati fresh soups are now approaching Europe

The fresh soup market has enjoyed a very positive growth in the last years in Italy: in 2014, as an example, it grew by 7.7% in value.

Within this market, Zerbinati plays an important role: the 100% Italian company, based in the Monferrato area in the Piedmont region, achieved a 30% growth in 2014 and reached a total market share of over 30% in the fresh soups category in Italy.

The reason for this success lies in the ability to preserve its family roots and its strong link with the best Italian traditional cuisine, and in the capacity of selecting and using only the best raw materials so as to obtain extremely high quality products.

Today, Zerbinati fresh soups, crèmes and side dishes are now approaching foreign markets – with the objective of allowing European consumers to taste the real flavor of the fresh minestrone soup and all the other traditional Italian dishes, cooked and prepared as Italians would do it at their homes

The company distributes more than 90 skus (stock keeping units), including fresh soups, crèmes, side dishes and ready to eat salads. With 130 employees and some of the most important Italian retailers as customers, Zerbinati works more than 400 q of fresh vegetables each day. The production site includes 13 production and 15 packing lines, with dedicated areas for unloading raw materials and shipping finished products.

As of 2007, Zerbinati is IFS certified. The company yearly performs more than 1,000 controls on raw materials and 2,000 microbiological controls on finished products. Besides, a full tracking system is in place, allowing Zerbinati to completely control the route to market of its products.

Productions are run with an eye for sustainability with the objective to minimize energy and water consumption and wastes. Continuous improvements are realized on production cycle, and waste recycling is a norm in the processes.
