Agonomist Nunzio Pace follows production in the following partner companies:
Azienda agricola Pappalardo
Azienda agricola Gugliotta
Azienda agricola Lombardo
Azienda agricola Feudo Nobile di Napoli Salvatore
Azienda agricola Cassibba
"These companies cover 4 hectares on average and produce in greenhouses or under tarpaulins that are 2x2.5 metres in size, so they can grow up to 15,000 plants each."
"We chose covered vineyards so we can harvest early - in normal years, we can pack the first grapes around May 20th. This season there was a slight delay due to a rather cold spring, though quality is excellent."
The greenhouse early variety season will continue until July 10th, then it will be the turn of the Victoria and Italia varieties.
Support for producers mainly concerns treatment, with the objective of complying with the strict residue standards required by clients.
Perplexities on seedless grapes
SuperPippo Fruit is still assessing seedless grapes. "There are many seedless varieties, maybe too many, and they are all patented. Royalties often discourage producers from making investments."
SuperPippo Fruit holds the GlobalGap and HACCP certifications and, in addition to grapes, it also produces stonefruit (peaches, nectarines and apricots) and melons..
