“Short date” products sold with 50% off

The association “Les gueules cassées” who came up with the “ugly” fruit and vegetable initiative have decided to go into “short date” products. Buying these products that have a shorter expiration date will help to limit food wastage and they will be sold for 50% less. Over 600,000 tons of products are sold each year due to their expiration dates being too soon.

Geoffrey Dubreucq heard of this idea and decided to test it in his small Spar store on the road to Carpentras. The initiative caught the attention with management and now 900 Spar stores over France are going to use these “short date” labels. This summer Leclerc stores will be using them too.
