EC to analyse peach and nectarine prospects
The Working Group for Peaches and Nectarines of the European Commission, formed by experts from Member States and Commission officials, will analyse the production prospects in major EU countries during its next meeting, to be held this Friday in Brussels.
The Working Group will analyse the harvest forecasts presented at EuropĂȘch in April and exchange information on both fresh and processed production in the European market. It will later discuss some sanitary issues affecting the apricot and peach productions.
For FEPEX, the initial development of the campaign has been marked by the orderly phasing of the areas that are now in production: Andalusia, Murcia and Extremadura, with a good balance in terms of volumes and quality as well as supply and demand.
FEPEX is represented in this Working Group by Antonio Chavero, chairman of the FEPEX stonefruit committee and producer in Extremadura.
