Marlene Apples® partner of Carrera De La Mujer

Almost 100,000 participants over eight days dedicated to the importance of sport in preventing diseases such as breast cancer. These are some of the figures from Carrera de la Mujer, the huge sporting even which gathers support from tens of thousands of jogging fans all over Spain and which saw Marlene® apples become their sponsor during the last edition.

Once again this year, the fruit brand picked at the foot of the Italian Alps with 5,000 members of the VOG Consortium takes part alongside the multitude of pink as official sponsor of the event, founded with a view to making the female public aware of the importance of a healthy lifestyle in order to prevent breast cancer. An aim which is also followed up with concrete actions, like the donation made at the end of each edition by the organizing body to AECC (Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer), for a total of € 550,000 handed over since 2004 to date.

The Marlene® apples will accompany the eight Carrera de la Mujer stop-off points, two of which have already taken place. In fact, they will be distributed as snacks to all the participants and as a special prize to all the winners in the "Friends" category. They will also be present during the Sport Woman fair, organized two days before each race in order to distribute bibs to the participants, where gadgets and advertising items designed exclusively for this event will be available.

"We fully back the idea of sport and health on which Carrera de la Mujer is based" comments Gerhard Dichgans, Director of the VOG Consortium. "The sponsoring of the previous edition convinced us even further of the significant social value of the event and we are delighted to contribute again this year" he concluded.
This initiative sees Marlene® continue the route already undertaken over the last few years which has led them to become one of the most famous fruit and vegetable brands in Spain.
