Austria: Own stonefruit production for retailer SPAR

Last week 6,200 apricot trees were planted on an area of 12 hectares in Austria, commissioned by supermarket chain SPAR. This was reported by the NFO. The company wants to plant a total of 40 hectares of apricots, peaches and nectarines. SPAR wants a more prominent place for regionally grown products on the shelves and can prevent the import of 800 tonnes of stonefruit from Spain and Italy with this own production. His regional producers will also benefit from SPAR's new direction.
