Good volumes of Charentais melons for Easter

In the run up to the Easter holiday, Soldive, a French producer and marketer of melons, will have good volumes of their Yellow Charentais melons. Current supplies are being harvested in Senegal, and Moroccan melons should be available in Europe in the latter half of April.

“There's a very good market for melons right now, with Easter approaching,” said Audrey Brizard of Soldive. “Sales have been increasing for the past two weeks, and we should have plenty of volume for the next few weeks.” The major part of Soldive's Charentais' crop is sold in France, and the remaining is sold for the export. Fruit quality is also faring well this season, with fruit ranging between 650 grams and 1,350 grams.

“Brix levels are very good, currently between 13 and 16,” said Brizard, which is excellent for Charentais melons.”
