Sipo introduces three new product lines

"The contacts we made in Berlin during Fruit Logistica are opening up new opportunities for us in Scandinavia, UK and Germany," explains Massimiliano Ceccarini, general manager for Sipo.

From left, Nicolò Bentivegni, export manager and Giulio Campana, export department. The objective for 2015: develop a trade network in Northern Europe and Gulf countries.

Negotiations concern three renewed product lines developed with chefs and nutritionists. "We need to thank professor Marco Dalla Rosa from the University of Bologna and nutritionist Maria Cristina Dore who, together with Sipo's R&D department, managed to meet consumers' needs."

With Flavour Valley and the Nico cooperative, Sipo covers the whole chain - from sowing to product promotion (aromatic herbs, packed unwashed, fresh-cut, mixed salads, minestrone, ready-to-eat fresh mushrooms and even organic fresh-cut range).

The tree Sapori del mio Orto lines (Aromatic Herbs, Minestrone and Mixed Salads) are designed to recall a healthy agriculture. "The images chosen for the packaging remind consumers that the product comes directly from the field and maintains its flavour unaltered. The idea is to highlight the human aspect of agriculture."

Rake and spade are a reference to the agricultural world and highlight pairing suggestions.

"In the case of aromatic herbs, we do not sell the product as such but rather the recipe, so we are basically supplying the ingredients. For example, the "Red Meat" selection includes rosemary, sage, parsley and garlic whereas the "White Meat" selection contains marjoram, sage, thyme and garlic and "Raw Fish" is a mix of wild fennel, marjoram, parsley and garlic. Other selections are Raw Meat, Seafood Salad and Fish in Foil."

Baby minestrone contains: carrots, pumpkin, potatoes, peas, courgettes, chard, tomatoes, cabbage and beans.

"Minestrones are an evolved packed unwashed product, i.e. they are a 'service product' that provides consumers with a recipe". In this case, the line includes Light, Energy, Detox and Baby minestrone.

"Enriched salads are side dishes with protein-rich ingredients such as walnuts, mozzarella, tuna etc. They are ready-to-eat and thus ideal for a lunch break." There are three types available: salad with cheese, walnuts and cherry tomatoes (in the photo), with tuna and black olives and with mozzarella and black olives.

"We aim at a more evolved market where you are selling a recipe with a fresh, non-processed product. The other lines which we will lunch at Macfrut 2015 in September are also developed with this in mind."
