"Have fruit any time of the day"

New: Albert Heijn fruit and veg snack buckets

Last Monday, January 26, Albert Heijn introduced a new concept: The AH mini snack buckets. A spokesperson from Albert Heijn indicated that they hope to play into the health trend with this as well as comfort and convenience. "We see that our customers find fruit tasty and healthy and want to eat it more often. With these smaller packagings we make it easier to eat fresh fruit any time, anywhere: at school, at work, on the train or on the road."

Also with Dutch strawberries
Albert Heijn offers the snack buckets in various flavours. "At the moment we have tomato, white grapes, red grapes, carrot, mango, pineapple, blueberry, apple and cucumber. And we hope to add strawberry when the Dutch strawberry is back in season. Of course we are looking at possibilities to expend, especially if it turns out to be a success."

The buckets have now been on the shelves for a week. "it's still a bit early to say anything, as the mini snack buckets have only been in the shops for a few days, but the start is promising. We are getting a lot of enthusiastic reactions, especially from customers with children, as they find them handy for school snacks. There are also positive responses to the price. We offer the mini snack buckets for €0.79 to €1.19, depending on the price of the contents. We are reaching a lot of different customers with these new products, from families to single households, due to the versatility of the buckets. They are also sold at Albert Heijn To Go."

The spokesperson indicates that even more new, healthy fresh concepts are due to arrive this year. "But what and when remains a surprise," she concludes.
