Identify fruit ripeness instantly
“Automating fruit sorting lines have proven the usefulness of NIR Technology in the packing house. We’re bringing that technology into the orchard where it can add value before harvest," says Michael Larman, General Manager of Felix Instruments. “Ripeness and flavor – the most important metrics for fruit quality – can now be pinpointed while the fruit is still on the tree.”
The technology behind the F-750 was a featured subject at the 2014 International Diffuse Reflectance Conference (“Math Makes for a Better Mango”).
Felix Instruments will be present at the Fruit Logistica 2015 to demonstrate their nerw F-750.
Researchers from Central Queensland University presented their data using the F-750 to analyze dry matter, color, and sugar content in pre- and post-harvest mangos, tomatoes, and cherries in the “Non-destructive Assessment of Fruit Attributes Symposium” at the 2014 International Horticultural Congress. Fruit Logistica attendees interested in learning more about the F-750 can make an appointment directly with Felix Instruments’ Application Scientist Andrea Melnychenko, who will be attending the show: amelnychenko@felixinstruments.com or SMS: 971-506-6796.
