One in two Germans would buy imperfect fruit and veg

Fruit and vegetables in the supermarket do not have to look perfect: many Germans would buy fruit and vegetables even if they had spots on them and were not perfectly shaped, reports the German website wz-newsline.de

Approximately one in two Germans (49%) would buy fruit and vegetables with visual defects, if it is cheaper. Even a wrong shape and size would not deter the sale, according to a representative survey from Forsa. 42% of Germans would buy imperfect looking fruit and vegetables even if they were not cheaper. Three-quarters (75%) of those asked would like regional fruit and vegetables offered in their supermarkets.
