Carrefour and Cora meet suppliers in France

The two new partners, Carrefour and Cora, held their first joint meeting with their suppliers. On the 22nd December, Carrefour France and Cora supermarkets signed a buying cooperation agreement. This partnership is based on buying negotiations of national and international brand products, food and bazaar, not including distributor brands, products from small to medium enterprises and fresh produce from the agricultural sector.

On the 6th January the 2 groups met the suppliers in Massy at Carrefour’s head office. 103 suppliers effected by the agreement were present, the 40 or so non food suppliers were not. The suppliers that were present noted a solidity in the speeches and the desire for a long term partnership on Cora’s side not only in France but with CWT international centre. It was also decided that the purchases would pass via Carrefours buying centre which Cora adheres to. Cora will maintain their General Terms and Conditions and communication plans.

They also noted that Carrefour and Cora have achieved over 25% market share on national brand activity in super and hypermarkets.
