The Waitrose is in the Dubai Mall, the largest shopping centre in the world, close to Burj Khalifa, the highest building in the world. The journey to the supermarket took us past the largest aquarium in the world and an ice rink.

Waitrose
Waitrose is a British supermarket. The company has two locations in the United Arab Emirates, of which one is in the Dubai Mall. It opened in 2008. The other location is in the Marina Mall. The company has no other foreign locations, although products are shipped to countries like Australia, Chile, New Zealand and Qatar.

European products
The shop has a wide assortment with lots of European products and only the signs running through the store such as "Pork - Not for Muslims" show that it is not one of the company's London locations. The supply and quality of the fruit and vegetable department is impressive, and the amount of Dutch tomato varieties is particularly striking. The fresh department is added to by production from Egypt and Jordan.

Convenience
Besides the fresh department there is also a wide supply of convenience products. The supermarket has a salad bar offering various kinds of salads, a large sandwich and meal department.
