Held in Santiago Chile on 11 and 12 November

Cool Fresh Group brings its wide global trading approach to PMA Fruittrade

The Cool Fresh Group has a broad-based logistics and marketing services which enable producers to gain direct market access, and has in recent years experienced strong growth. According to business development director Niels Stolk it has been a case of focusing on the essence of fresh produce trading: loyalty, perseverance and innovation. “For many years we have been working hard at developing a loyal clients base all over the world. In addition, by continuously developing new ideas which add value to our clients’ commercial operations we are now very satisfied with having solid clients in more than 60 countries all over the world."

Stolk says that in addition to servicing customers (including retail chains) in most European countries on a ‘direct from source’ basis, the Cool Fresh Group is also active in countries as far afield as Angola and Mauritius. The group’s latest analysis shows that growth has come primarily from developing markets, and according to Stolk there is still lots of growth potential in specifically the sub-Sahara markets. He also says that it is not just a case of getting on an airplane, going to a new country and starting up business! The Group invests a huge amount of time in getting to understand cultural and business difference, and then building a business case which is sustainable.

Stolk is convinced that his Group’s strong relationships with its suppliers has played a major role in growing the business. “Our loyal growers have come to understand that it is only by working closely together over a longer period of time that a sustainable business model can be created. We have shown that we are able to create direct market access for them in many countries, leading to cost savings and repeat orders."

Niels Stolk and Bert van Gelder, the executive responsible for Latin America, will be present at the PMA Fruittrade event in Santiago, Chile on 11 and 12 November 2014. Cool Fresh Group, Booth 20, PMA Fruittrade, Centro de Convenciones, Santiago Chile
