Brazil: slightly more melons exported during start of the season compared to last year

Brazil has exported 34,600 tonnes of melons to the international markets in the first two months of the new season, reports the German website Fruchthandel.de.

According to SECEX, the Brazilian ministry of Foreign Trade, this indicates a growth 3% compared to last year. As far as value is concerned the melon export has made a turnover of 28.8 million US dollars. This is 1.7% less than in the previous season. That's 1.7% less than in the previous season. The largest part of the melons were supplied to the markets within the European Union, at 33,600 tonnes.
