"No consequences of boycott in fresh mushroom market as yet"

Although there was some confusion whether EU mushrooms were also banned by Russia - they weren't specifically named on the blacklist, after all - further enquiries at Frugi Venta reveal that the CN codes of mushrooms are also included in the ban.

Judging from sources in Poland, according to sales manager Alex Vos of Banken Champignons, mushrooms have passed the Russian border in the past few days, but other trucks were sent back at the border. "We hear that smaller Polish producers are cancelling orders for compost. At the moment, we don't see any consequences of the boycott in the market for fresh mushrooms. However, it's still too early to draw conclusions."

"Sporadically, Dutch mushrooms are exported directly to Russia. In that respect, a ban will have a bigger impact on the Polish mushrooms. Eastern Poland in particular is a big supplier of mushrooms to Russia. Our markets are mainly located in Western Europe," Alex concludes.
