US (CA): Steady market for parsley

With moderate weather in the California's Central Coast region, supplies of parsley coming out of there have been steady this season. Along with smooth supplies, prices have been on par with previous seasons.

“Right now, we have good quality and good supplies of parsley and Italian parsley out of the Salinas Valley,” said Mark McBride of Coastline Produce. “We've been in this deal since the middle of April, and I expect supplies to continue through the rest of the season, which will probably end in November.” With no significant hiccups this season, supplies have been steady, and the market has reflected that. McBride reported that prices for a 60-count carton of parsley were between $12.50 and $13.00.

“The only thing that would affect supplies would be extreme heat right now, and that hasn't happened,” noted McBride. “Volumes are similar to previous years, and prices right now are very reasonable – more reasonable than in the Spring, when weather issues pushed them up.”
