The latest Florida citrus crop estimate from the USDA Agricultural Statistics Board shows a decrease in production in the 2013-2014 crop from the previous season.

In the final estimate of the season, which was released on Friday, the Florida orange crop is estimated at 104.4 million boxes for the 2013-2014 season. That's almost 30 million fewer boxes than the previous season, which represents a drop in production of just under 22 percent.

Similarly, 2013-2014 grapefruit production for the state is forecast at 15.7 million boxes, which is 2.7 million fewer boxes than the previous season. That's a drop in production of a little over 17 percent between the two seasons. Tangerine production for 2013-2014 is forecast at 2.95 million boxes, which is a drop of 330,000 boxes from the previous season's production of 3.28 million boxes.
