Canada: Quebec raspberry growers angry about imports
One producer in Oka told the Journal de Montreal that he could not believe his eyes when he saw IGA and Metro flyer specials for raspberries from the U.S.
He says he'd sell at a loss if he tried to match the price of the imports.
He says grocery stores only pay lip service to promises to provide consumers with locally-grown produce as much as possible.
Metro, for one, is promising to feature Quebec raspberries next week, and admits the crop is the best in recent years.
