Edeka Nord reports increased profits

In the financial year 2013, German cooperation Edeka Nord was again able to register an increase in the annual results compared to the year before, German website Fruchthandel.de reports. According to current figures, the company result improved by 2.3 million Euro, to 33.5 million Euro. 

Compared to the previous year, revenues increased by 1.0%. The EBIT though, according to Edeka Nord, at 41.7 million Euro remained below the level of the year before (47 million Euro). All in all, Edeka Nord invested nearly 89 million Euro in independent retail supermarkets, own branches and its logistics sector.

During the first five months of 2014, Edeka Nord revenues went up by 2.7%. If the business development of the first months of this year continues until the end of the year, the planned results for this year are expected to be achieved.
