Savoy cabbage chips goes on the market for the first time
Aryan Moghaddam, 26, is the founder of 'Heimatgut', the company behind Savoy cabbage crisps. He and his partner, Maurice Fisher, 27, created Savoy cabbage crisps together. "We wanted a healthy replacement for the classic, savoy cabbage instead of potato crisps," Aryan Moghaddam describes the new snack as a gluten free, vegetarian choice that is in line with the new food trends. More than 800,000 Germans have given up eating animal products, just like Hollywood stars such as Natalie Portman and Gwyneth Paltrow. The founders use the name of their brand to emphasize the local focus of 'Heimatgut'. The savoy cabbage mainly comes out of North Germany during the season, they can also sometimes be purchased outside the main harvesting period in Southern Germany.
Even though these two young entrepreneurs have introduced a very new food product that will make the company 500,000 Euro, but it will not stop here. Companies also strive towards exporting abroad and their next idea is already here: they want to bring roasted corn kernels and products with pomegranate seeds onto the market.
