Poland: Prices of raspberries for processing doubled over the last year

The Polish fruit processors recently started the raspberry supply campaign. However, at the moment the supply of raspberries for further processing in Poland is considerably limited, reports the website fruit-inform.com. A lot of processing factories reported that they only have small supplies left from last year and so are forced to buy raw raspberries against relatively high prices.

The current prices are between 1.21 and 1.45 Euro per kg, depending on the quality. This is twice as much as in the same period last season. The market participants also expect the prices of raspberries intended for processing will remain higher this year than in previous years, as the raspberry harvest decreased this year and there have been unfavourable weather conditions.
