A delegation from Ginegar visited the cherry orchards to see the results of the "Oroplus® beyond rain protection" project, coordinated by prof. Guglielmo Costa and Dr. Stefano Lugli from Dipsa at the University of Bologna.

The aim of the project is to evaluate the effects of the photoselective and diffusive Oroplus films on the organoliptic characteristics of fruit. Climate parameters, gaseous exchanges, the ripening of fruit and plant production are being measured.
The chairman of the Plastik group, Gianangelo Cattaneo, thinks that "human capital, research and technology are fundamental to promote Oroplus® at an international level also thanks to our cooperation with Ginegar."
In addition, Plastik takes part in the Innocer project of the Veneto Region, in which Oroplus® is analysed and evaluated "on field" by growers.
Photoselective Oroplus®.
"And that is not all. In the next few weeks, we will consider new research projects on innovative materials and a new type of Oroplus® together with Dipsa, our technical partners and our staff."
In the meantime, July will be the end of the first of three years of Dipsa research. The results will be presented by prof. Costa at the Agricultural Film Conference 2014 in Barcelona.
