Spain: Almeria wants to expand in Czech and Hungarian vegetables markets

Extenda, the Andalusian Agency for Foreign Trade Promotion, devoted to supporting Andalusian companies in their internationalisation efforts, made a call to the Region's horticultural firms for their participation in the next direct trade mission to the Czech Republic and Hungary, which will take place between 10 and 13 June in the cities of Prague and Budapest; an opportunity for Almeria's fruit and vegetable business network to increase its market share and export volumes.

In 2013, the Czech Republic imported 980 million Euro worth of fresh fruit and vegetables, of which 182 million were supplied by Spain and 42.7 by Andalusia.

Regarding the Hungarian market, Andalusia is Spain's fourth largest exporter to this destination, representing 12% of the country's total exports, which reached a value of almost 2.5 million Euro in 2013.

The most exported products by Andalusia were cucumber and gherkins, tomatoes and lettuce, according to the latest data elaborated by Extenda.
