Alimentaria focuses on internationalization
Alimentaria 2014, which will be held from March 31 to April 3, launches its most international edition to open markets for the sector's SMEs.
The exhibition, which will occupy almost all of Barcelona's Gran Via de Fira venue, has been promoted all over the world in order to identify and attract buyers from emerging markets and European countries.
600 key importers and distributors from the Asian, Latin and North American markets, as well as visitors from over 140 countries are expected to visit the exhibition and participate in over 8,000 business meetings with exhibitors.
"Adapting to globalization is now an unavoidable challenge," said the president of Alimentaria and Fira de Barcelona, Josep LluĂs Bonet, who has reaffirmed the exhibition's will to contribute to the internationalization of the sector, 96% of which is comprised by SMEs. "Alimentaria is a good way of accessing new markets and an opportunity to establish contacts with international players," he explained.
