First stone of Edeka Minden-Hannover warehouse expansion laid

Just over a week ago, the 100 million Euro expansion of the regional Edeka warehouse in Westerholtsfelde, Germany began. This was attended by Olaf Lies, minister of economic affairs for the German state of Lower Saxony. Edeka Minden-Hannover is expanding the warehouse by 56.670 m2 to a total of 88.720 m2, report German website nwzonline.de. Westerholtsfelde will then be the largest warehouse of Edeka Minden-Hannover.

The new extension will be 440 metres long, 120 metres wide and will have building heights of 11 and 25 metres. Part of the expansion is expected to be in use as early as Spring 2015 and deliveries will begin to around 500 supermarkets. The warehouse expansion should be complete by Autumn 2015, announced Stephan Kohler from Edeka Minden-Hannover.
