Murcia registers turnaround with cultivation celery

According to the official numbers Murcia produced 442,000 tonnes of celery in 2013. Reports the German website Fruchthandel.de. This is 5.8% more than in 2012 and represents a turnaround for the cultivation which has been decreasing since 2009. 61% of the celery cultivation in Spain comes from Murcia. Then far behind is Valencia (23%), Catalonia (8%), Andalusia (6%). In the EU, Spain is in second position with a share of 25% of total production (after Italy with 31%). Great Britain follows in third place with 15%.
