México Calidad Suprema shared 2014 goals during Fruit Logisitica 2014
Juan Alberto Laborín
To strengthen food safety in Mexico, México Calidad Suprema developed a model to guide producers in implementing the Risk Reduction Contamination System, Laborín explained. Through this model, it is easier for producers to follow the requirements for traceability, safety and environmental and social responsibility as set down by MéxicoG.A.P®. Moreover, the quality of the product is ensured.
Laborín stressed the importance of working with the Mexican government, SAGARPA and SENASICA. “The results obtained in the projects conducted alongside SENASICA have pushed us to work for the benefit of our agricultural producers,” Laborín said. “This year we have already achieved our first goal – The Mexico Interpretation Guidelines – which enforce the criteria for food safety and which will be mandatory starting in April of 2014.”
Finally, the Chairman of the Board listed México Calidad Suprema’s goals for 2014:
• Publishing the Avocado Interpretation Guidelines.
• Making certification affordable for agricultural producers.
• Certification for lemon, banana, garlic, avocado, strawberry, mango and pomelo
• To maintain the recognition of MéxicoG.A.P.® by SENASICA / SAGARPA.
