A record 6,500 decision-makers from 64 different countries attended Asia Fruit Logistica 2013. More than three quarters of them held leading management positions in their companies, while 89 per cent of them were closely involved in the purchasing and procurement decision-making process, according to visitor survey results.

Exhibiting as part of the Fruit Growers Tasmania stand at Asia Fruit Logistica 2013, Tim Reid of Australian grower-shipper Reid Fruits described last year’s show as “the best he’d been to”. “We’ve made some exceptionally good contacts,” said Reid. “The quality of the leads that we now have to work on is really high.”

Exhibitor numbers also reached record levels at Asia Fruit Logistica 2013, increasing by almost 10 per cent to 372 companies. The number of exhibitor countries rose by 23 per cent to 37 nations, making the event more international than ever.

An even bigger show beckons in 2014, with new exhibitors signing up to take part. Saudi Arabia is the latest new country to register to exhibit at Asia Fruit Logistica. The National Centre for Dates & Palms will fly the flag for Saudia Arabia with the country’s first national pavilion at the show.

Asia remains the world’s fastest growing market for the fresh fruit and vegetable trade. Asia’s fresh produce import volumes have been increasing at a rate of around 7 per cent per annum since 2008, according to analysis from Fresh Intelligence Consulting presented at Asiafruit Congress 2013, topping 16m tonnes in 2012.

Capitalise on the growth opportunities for your business in Asia by exhibiting at Asia Fruit Logistica 2014.
