CBI's reception for suppliers from 12 developing countries

During Fruit Logistica in Berlin, CBI organised a reception for its 36 suppliers from 12 developing countries. Visitors were invited to have a drink and meet the suppliers.

Femke de Jong of CBI is a big driver for the program of CBI. "It has been hard work, but we can already say it has been a success," says an enthusiastic Femke.

Ger van Burik who managed the Holland Pavilion in Fruit Logistica said: "It is a real asset to have them within the Holland Group."

CBI helped these companies, but they all invested themselves in their business' to make sure they meet all requirements to trade within Europe. The suppliers are able to provide a range of fresh produce including pineapples, bananas, avocados, mangos, grapes, citrus, beans, peas, herbs, exotics, such as pomegranates, rambutans and mangosteens. In addition this year CBI introduced growers from West Africa and Central America, adding American okra, blackberries and watermelons to the product line-up.
