Capespan appoints new chairman

Norman Celliers, CEO of agri-business investment group Zeder Investments Ltd, has been appointed chairman of Capespan Group Ltd. The latter invests in and manages a portfolio of companies offering a range of quality, value-added products and related services in fresh produce and logistics internationally.

After 21 years on the boards of Unifruco and Capespan, Dr Paul Clüver retired at the AGM of the Company on 27 May 2013. He has been chairman of the Capespan Group since inception in 1999.

Celliers holds a B.Eng (Civil) degree from the University of Stellenbosch and an MBA from the University of Oxford in England. His professional career includes a broad range of strategy engagements for leading South African companies, as well as operational business experience in South Africa and abroad. In recent years he moved into private equity, developing alternative investment products for domestic and international investors seeking exposure in the emerging African markets. Celliers has been CEO of Zeder Investments since 2012 and serves on the boards of Capevin Holdings and the Pioneer Foods Group, among others.
