Hortifrut begins 2025 Peru blueberry exports to China

Hortifrut has launched its 2025–2026 blueberry season with the first shipment from Peru to China. The container, carrying 6.75 tons of fresh blueberries, departed from the Port of Chancay and is expected to arrive in Shanghai on July 30.

The use of the Port of Chancay, now in its second year for Hortifrut's Asia-bound exports, allows a shorter transit time of 25 days compared to the previous 32-day route. According to the company, this route supports improved fruit quality at the destination.

Company representatives noted that the shipment reflects ongoing efforts to streamline logistics and maintain export standards. Hortifrut's operations in Peru include a focus on reducing transit times and maintaining product condition throughout the supply chain.

In May, Hortifrut received B Corp certification, which acknowledges its adoption of certain social and environmental business practices. The company continues to prioritize exports to high-value markets, particularly in Asia.
