2022 marks a pinnacle year for PrepWorld as they celebrate 10 years in the prepared fruit industry whilst a new state of the art facility opens the doors to the next decade of growth.
Established in 2012, and building on prior experience supplying washed, ready-to-eat blueberries, PrepWorld has taken an innovative approach to supplying prepared fruit to the UK retail market. With a product range that has rapidly evolved over the last decade, making PrepWorld the fastest growing prepared fruit company in the UK during their first 10 years of production.
A new site for a new decade
The new purpose-designed site will be operational in August and offers a significant increase in prepared fruit production capacity, allowing PrepWorld to further expand their product range and underlining their commitment to quality and compliance.
Having reached full capacity in their original site, the new facilities in Northfleet, Kent will ensure PrepWorld can build further on their last decade of growth. The site provides a futureproof multiservice offering with dedicated fruit processing facilities, 10 assembly lines and assembly automation solutions which will enable the business to better serve customer needs now, and in the future.
The new site is 140,000 sqft - 95,000sqft is factory and 45,000 is raw material storage. The site is due for completion at the end of July and should be fully operational by mid-August.

The new site has many improvements over the previous one, including increased fruit preparation capacity and pack assembly automation and capacity, with a single fruit processing facility and dedicated fruit washing production lines as well as pomegranate processing development. It will also have huge advances in efficiency and an increased number of loading docks.
The official opening party took place last week where 150 PrepWorld family, friends and suppliers come together to celebrate this milestone and discover the expansive new site.
PrepWorld has a 23% share of £450m prepared fruit market in the UK and supplies 11 major retailers.
