Increased profits at UK fruit and vegetable producer and supplier S&A Group Holdings

During its latest financial year, pre-tax profits increased at a West Midlands producer and supplier of fresh fruit and vegetables  The recent accounts for S&A Group Holdings, which operates across Central and South America, North Africa and Europe, have revealed that its profits rose from £1 to £1.6 million in the 12 months up to 31 December 2019. Its turnover went from £70.9m to £66.8m over the same period.

Insidermedia.com reports how the company - headquartered in Marden, Hereford - produces and supplies strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, asparagus, avocados and blackberries to UK sellers. A statement signed off by the board said: "During 2019 the group has continued to invest in its UK and overseas farms whilst reducing its net borrowings."
