Guillem Export reaches agreement with Grupo Atitlan that will boost its growth in citrus sector

The Valencia-based company Guillem Export has reached an agreement with Grupo Atitlan with the aim of boosting its growth and improving its positioning in the field. The agreement will be closed definitively in the coming weeks.

This agreement will lead to the integration of the citrus agricultural project of Atitlan (recently acquired by Frutas Romu) into Guillem Export, and is part of the Group's strategy of boosting its investments in the primary sector, continuing to grow in the sector and seeking commercial alliances with the leaders in European and UK distribution.

Thanks to this agreement, Guillem Export is becoming one of the leading companies in the sector, since it will lead to integration of up to 50 million kilos of Romu Fruits' production, which are grown on 1,300 hectares. Its marketable volume will thus increase to over 110 million kilos of citrus. The operation will also allow the company to incorporate lemons to its range, to strengthen its commercial alliances with the leaders of European and UK distribution, as well as to improve the efficiency and competitiveness of its warehouses.

Fernando Guillem, CEO of Guillem Export, said that “for Guillem Export, joining forces with Atitlan is a big boost and will allow us to continue the expansion that we have achieved in recent years, improving our processes and our productivity. We will be growing along with our strategic clients.”

“With this alliance, Atitlan strengthens its commitment to the primary sector. We are convinced that the operation, which has been possible thanks to the agreement with Fernando Guillem and the commercial synergies between the two companies, will significantly improve the quality and service we offer to our clients," said Francisco Llopis, head of the Primary and Food Sector at Atitlan.
