Representatives of the Ecuadorian company IMPOEX met with the head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (SAG) of Honduras, Mauricio Guevara, to discuss the export of avocados to the European market.
In a first approach, the IMPOEX executive director, Xavier Simbaña Vinueza, expressed his interest in the high-quality avocado produced in Honduras and their desire to make commercial alliances with Honduran producers.
The Minister said he was open to the proposals that will strengthen the Association of Avocado Producers of Honduras (ASPAH) and expressed his satisfaction and gratitude to the investors for their interest in this fruit.
Antonio Romero, coordinator of the National Avocado Plan, said that a first step was to obtain the Global Gap certification of the farms, which will begin at the regional level (Central America), for the selection, packaging, and distribution of avocado, so as to be ready to export to the European market.
