The over 2.000 tons harvested confirmed the Consorzio Dorì Europe's expectations for the Dorì kiwi. But there was also a surprise: on average, sizes were bigger than expected. Therefore, the farmers will have a bigger revenue. Giampaolo Del Pane, president of the Consorzio Dorì Europe, shared this information at the Fruit Attraction Madrid, where he was at the company's stand until the very last.

“We are extremely satisfied with our fields. The quality is excellent. We started a few weeks ago with the marketing of the Dorì. Already, this kiwi is sold in many Gdo chains. Prices reflect its premium quality: for instance, some chains sell 500 gr boxes for 2.59 euros each”.
During the fair, Dal Pane struck up new friendships, especially with Gdo chains from different European countries – and not only the Spanish ones. The president continued, “We are sure that our product has everything it needs to stand out on the markets. It is going pretty well in Asia, especially thanks to a middleman who is very knowledgeable about the Hong Kong market”.

This kiwi is an extremely early variety: e.g. it is harvested 45 days earlier than a Hayward kiwi with 7 Brix degrees. The entry into production is incredibly fast: within the same year, on two-year-old grafted plants”.
