West African mango operations expand with new acquisition

Omer-Decugis & Cie has expanded its operations in West Africa through the acquisition of the Ivorian mango export company Vergers du Bandama.

Vergers du Bandama, based in Sinématiali in the Poro region of northern Ivory Coast, has been an exclusive partner of the group for many years. The company specialises in the production, packing, and export of fresh mangoes. In 2025, it exported more than 1,500 tons of mangoes to French and European markets. Founded in 2010, the company's development has been supported by its operational experience and an export logistics system designed to maintain fruit quality. It is recognised within the sector in West Africa and holds certifications including Global G.A.P, Rainforest Alliance, and Amfori BSCI level A.

According to Vincent Omer-Decugis, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Omer-Decugis & Cie, the acquisition strengthens the group's position in the West African mango supply chain and supports its strategy of increasing oversight of upstream sourcing.

Through its subsidiary SIIM, Omer-Decugis & Cie has been active in mango production and export from Côte d'Ivoire for many years and is a major supplier from West Africa, with activities in Mali, Burkina Faso, and Senegal. The mango sector in Côte d'Ivoire supports more than 100,000 seasonal jobs. The group estimates that it holds around 30 per cent of the European market for mangoes exported during the African season from March to July. In 2025, the group exported more than 13,000 tons of African mangoes by sea and 500 tons by air.

Outside the African season, the group sources mangoes from Spain, Israel, Brazil, and Peru, reaching an annual volume of more than 25,000 tons supplied to European markets.

Omer-Decugis & Cie has acquired all shares of Vergers du Bandama using its own funds. The previous owners of Vergers du Bandama will remain involved in management for the next two years to support continuity during the transition period.
