Last June, Belgian retailer Colruyt announced its intention to sell 81 of its 105 shops in France. 81 shops were sold to Groupement des Mousquetaires (Intermarché). E.Leclerc, Carrefour, and Coopérative U were also interested in several shops. "For the 5 other shops not involved in the proposed sale and without a firm offer to date, we are still looking for reliable buyers," Colruyt France stated on its website.
According to the LSA website, the chain has finally decided to close the last five French shops due to a lack of offers. No official date has yet been set for the sale.
