Heat-sealed nets with flag label by Rev Packaging Solutions (Italy)

Lightweight and made from a single material, P-Pack is now a registered EU design

"Not all heat-sealed nets are the same," says Fabrizio Fiumana, president of the Italian company REV Packaging Solutions. "P-Pack is designed to combine functionality and sustainability. Made entirely of polyethylene, it is fully recyclable and 50% lighter than the heat-sealed nets currently found in supermarkets. The numbers speak for themselves, and we are available to provide further information and clarification."

Fiumana then cautions people to be wary of imitations and highlights the impact of years of testing on the quality of machines and packaging innovations for fruit and vegetables: 'We've dedicated years to refining P-Pack. We've managed to create a package that is lightweight yet strong (it can hold up to 2.5 kg), offers plenty of space for product information, and is practical and easy to handle."

"It was definitely a challenge, but we managed to use lighter and lighter materials, reducing the weight for the benefit of the packer, the consumer, and, of course, the environment by using even less plastic."

But that's not all. We have perfected the P-Pack, achieving even better performance with Puma's heat-sealed nets. With Puma, there are no problems, even with difficult products like onions, which release a lot of residue.

REV Packaging Solutions is consolidating its innovation by officially registering the P-Pack as a European design. The patent legally protects the pack's concrete advantages: reduced plastic usage, ease of handling, and customization.

Fiumana concludes, "Registering P-Pack as a European design protects our belief that the key to fruit and vegetable packaging is reducing the superfluous without removing what is essential. In short, we believe that the P-Pack design deserves global recognition, including legal recognition."
