Jensen began his career after earning a Ph.D. in theoretical physics. His early roles included serving as Chief Analyst for Maersk Line, where he focused on the economic and operational framework of container shipping. In 2011, he founded Vespucci Maritime, an independent consultancy that provides strategic insight to carriers, shippers, and other supply chain stakeholders.
Jensen spends much of the year meeting with industry professionals in various countries. He also developed LinerGame, a workshop format that uses LEGO vessels and containers to demonstrate practical shipping and logistics scenarios.
In 2024, Lloyd's List included Jensen in its ranking of the 100 Most Influential People in Global Shipping.
NYNJFFFBA President Al Raffa said Jensen "has a unique ability to distill complex global shipping dynamics into actionable insights that resonate across the supply chain," adding that his work has influenced discussion across the industry.
