During a visit to Tajikistan, representatives from Rosselkhoznadzor and the Russian Ministry of Agriculture assessed the country's agricultural sector to expand bilateral cooperation and increase imports of Tajik farm products to Russia.
Meetings focused on analyzing production volumes in Tajikistan's agro-industrial complex and identifying opportunities to boost exports, particularly grapes and early vegetables.
The delegation also visited agricultural enterprises in Tursunzade, including vineyards and modern cold storage facilities, to evaluate infrastructure and identify measures to improve product quality and export volumes.
In 2025, imports of fruits and vegetables from Tajikistan to Russia have grown significantly. Since the beginning of the year, 37,700 tons have been imported, more than double last year's volume. Onion shipments increased 13.8 times, while fresh apricots rose by 54.8% and dried apricots by 24%. Fresh grape imports also grew 4.4 times.
Both sides expressed interest in further developing agricultural trade and outlined practical steps to implement agreements, aiming to ensure stable supplies and consistent access to quality Tajik products for the Russian market.
