The labor shortage has also taken a firm hold on the fruit and vegetable sector. There is a shortage of employees everywhere along the chain - whether in the field, in the warehouse, or in logistics. This is precisely where Hamburg-based Temra GmbH literally steps in. The contract service provider's well-coordinated teams are deployed on a flexible basis. "On time, quality-assured, and cost-saving," emphasizes operations manager Orhan Güler when asked.

Temra GmbH's temporary workers perform all tasks carefully, efficiently, and in strict compliance with quality assurance and hygiene regulations.
The company has been providing staffing services for warehouse activities since 2007. Over the years, however, Temra GmbH's range of services has expanded significantly, according to Güler. In the fruit and vegetable sector in particular, there is a rapidly growing demand for flexible temporary workers. "Our range of services now extends far beyond the confines of the warehouse. If required, we also take on seasonal harvesting work, such as apple picking, here in the Altes Land region. In theory, it is possible to send up to approximately. 150 temporary workers and accommodate them on site." Temra GmbH has a total of around 250 workers from different countries of origin, the majority of whom speak German.

The Temra GmbH team is currently assisting with the apple harvest in the Altes Land region, among other things.
Temra GmbH is one of the few service providers that primarily focus on handling fresh, sometimes highly sensitive products. This requires special knowledge and skills. Güler: "Our employees are specialized and particularly experienced in handling fruit and vegetables, both as production and packaging assistants, as some of our long-standing regular customers are fruit and vegetable producers and wholesalers. Our own shift supervisors ensure that orders are fulfilled at the warehouse locations in accordance with the customer's wishes and requirements, in strict compliance with hygiene regulations and quality assurance. In this way, we offer each customer a cost-saving all-round package to reduce their workload and optimize their processes."

The company has so far been primarily active in the Hamburg area and its surroundings, where it offers reliable contract services. "However, we are currently planning to expand our range of services to the whole of Germany and would therefore like to establish new potential partnerships and business relationships," Güler concludes.
