In the first four months of 2025, Morocco exported US$729 million (€672 million) worth of fresh fruits and vegetables to Spain, representing a 28 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2024. Spain currently sources about 33 per cent of its fruit and vegetable imports from Morocco.
Blueberries were among the main products, with export values rising from US$143 million (€131.45 million) in 2024 to US$187 million (€172.22 million) in 2025. Raspberries also grew, from US$115 million (€105.92 million) to US$145 million (€133.54 million). Tomato exports reached US$69 million (€63.47 million) in the first four months of 2025, an increase of 63 per cent compared to the same period last year.
The development of Moroccan tomato exports contrasts with Spanish production trends. Between 2014 and 2024, Spanish tomato exports to the EU declined by 25 per cent, while imports from Morocco grew by 269 per cent, increasing from 18,045 tons to 66,624 tons.
Morocco's fruit and vegetable exports continue to expand their share in the Spanish market, particularly in berries and tomatoes, while reflecting shifts in trade flows between the two countries.
