Lutz Hasenbeck has been working in fruit wholesale for sixty years. Today, he is a recognized fruit importer and wholesaler in Germany, highly regarded for his dedication, experience, and fairness. The managing director of Fruchthof Northeim joined the former company in Hameln in 1964 as branch manager, took over the management of the parent company in Northeim in 1975, and became the owner a few years later. This year, he is celebrating his 50th anniversary at the Northeim site – in the heart of Germany and Europe.
Building a family business
With energy and foresight, Lutz Hasenbeck, together with his wife Ursula, his sons Marc and Nils, and a dedicated team of employees, has built a modern, high-performance fruit trading company over five decades. Fruit and vegetables from Fruchthof Northeim find their way into numerous restaurants across a wide region, as well as into kindergartens, schools, and hospitals. Food retailers and market traders also rely on the fresh produce, while bakeries and caterers process the products to meet their customers' needs.

1,500 tons of food every day
Behind the daily freshness stand 350 employees at the locations in Northeim, Mühlhausen, and Hildesheim. It is thanks to them that Lower Saxony, North Hesse, East Westphalia, and West Thuringia are supplied with an extensive range of fresh produce from a single source every day. The fresh produce specialist handles around 1,500 tons of food daily. Trained drivers deliver fruit and vegetables, ready cuts, delicatessen products, and potato and dairy products to customers fresh and on time in over 100 modern refrigerated trucks and vans.
Quality, reliability, and delivery security
Fruchthof Northeim is a member of CF Foodservice, a cooperative of leading fresh produce retailers in Germany, and also supplies chain restaurants and hotels. "As a certified fruit wholesaler, we stand for quality, reliability, and delivery security," says Lutz Hasenbeck. "Our customers can reach us around the clock." At 84, Lutz Hasenbeck still spends several hours a day at work. Together, the Hasenbeck family shapes and embodies the spirit of a successful, medium-sized family business.
